About
Shooters’ Journal was launched in November 2010 as an online media content and community site devoted to interesting, well-thought-out and accurate articles related to firearms and their use. It is the culmination of three business partners: two with extensive and unique backgrounds in shooting, gunsmithing and reloading, and one resident social media geek with more passion than experience in the firearms community. All wanted to take their hobby/passion and do something more.
We applaud the recent public growth in firearms interest, but feel that many new and existing users have been underserved by the limited, watered-down and regurgitated current offerings in traditional print publications. We hope to inform, educate and entertain with detailed and interesting articles about a very wide range of firearms related topics.
We hope you find our site to be uniquely informative and entertaining.

Technical Details
Shooters’ Journal is powered by WordPress, and free open-source web framework originally designed for bloggers. While not originally designed to power a site like Shooters’ Journal, WordPress has come a long way over the years and is now a powerful, flexible content management system.
Our look and feel is a slightly customized variant of Aggregate, from Elegant Themes. We’ve been very satisfied with Nick Roach (the owner of Elegant Themes), and the support from the community there has been excellent.
Finally, our site is hosted by Webfaction. Webfaction offers affordable pricing and extremely easy site setup. In fact, we’ve come to take for granted the fact that we can get a development site up and running in under 5 minutes using Webfaction’s excellent web administration panel.
If you have any questions about the other technologies that power our site, feel free to contact the editor.
